Animal Registration
Animals inside of the Castroville city limits must be licensed. Pet license fees are as follows:
Annual fee per animal: $10.00
Neutered animal - lifetime: $10.00
Pet registration and tags can be purchased at City Hall during business hours.
Lost Animals
Animals are picked up by our Animal Control Officer. Animals are held at our impound facility for three (3) days. If you have lost an animal, please contact us immediately. Picked up animals are posted at City Hall and the Castroville Post Office.
Animal Adoptions
Animals that are not claimed may be adopted at the end of the third day. If you are interested in adoption, please let us know. There are no adoption fees charged; however, it will be mandatory to have the animal vaccinated with a rabies shot and to have the adopted pet spayed or neutered.
Abused Animals
Please report abused or neglected animals to Animal Control.
